"Our Shells Simply Cannot Hold All Our Insides In"

I've got a cupboard with cans of food
Filtered water, and pictures of you
And I'm not coming out until this is all over

And I'm looking through the glass
Where the light bends at the cracks
And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs
Pretending the echoes belong to someone
Someone I used to know

The Six Strings Of The Heart

Would you learn to play the guitar, just so you could hear a woman sing for the first time?

You Thought You Knew Where You'd Be Tonight, But You Were Wrong

The boy leads his mother with the red hair up the steps of the trattoria, the Palace of Sighs. I'm little more than a ghost watching them from behind a white mask. Where they go I cannot follow.

Will I still be standing here, beneath the anicent clock, once they are gone?

The Dreaming Starts When I Wake Up

When I'm alone, I bury my disappointments. The promises I made the night before are all but gone by the time the evening rolls around again. I suppose I should really do something about that. I try to remind myself, I do - I even paint my fingernail to remind myself some times.

People Watching

The sunlight filters in through the openings between the Brentano facade and onto the crowded black marble floor. They have come to pray to the Madonna. In my own personal experience a God has never spoken to me, but there's something touching about the sincerity of their followers. Only a person who loved their life could ever build a place like this. A small child with a wide grin is taken by his mother's hand once she has lit a candle on his behalf. They both wear black, but her hair is red like the blood oranges they sell in the market.

"They say that the Cathedral of Milan is second only to St. Peter's at Rome. I cannot understand how it can be second to anything made by human hands." - Mark Twain

Don't Get Up

How will you be remembered after you are gone? Will anyone even still think of you? If a memory can be made from only one action, what will you do today that will live on forever in the hearts and minds of others?

The Hunted

That's strange. I don't feel like some kind of a derranged murdering lunatic.

Portals of the Night

You know, every time I look up at night and see a shooting star I only wish for the same thing - the next time I look up, I'll see another shooting star.

Behind The Trees

I was just thinking about a woman who had given me a ring to wear on my finger. I was sitting here, infront of my computer, with an old image of a deep, dark forest covering my desktop. The trees twist up from the ground like strands of hair in the wind.

For a moment I swear I thought I saw a silhoutte move.

On Life

I went to look for shadows but the shadows they found me. I went to swim the ocean but I drowned up in the sea. I want to love my woman but she chose him over me. I want to be somebody else. I feel I won't be free.

Is this me for life?
